In 2022 when my husband and I were both working full time jobs and trying to run our very active HomeVestors business, we decided something had to give and within 6 months we were both full time employees of each other and no longer working a W2 job. With that comes having to find health insurance and who knew how pricey that could be. We felt we had no other avenue than to insure our family through the Market Place and we decided to join a reputable company, in the event of something major happening, we knew we’d be covered. We were paying nearly $1,700 a month with an astronomical $13,000 deductible for a family of four, plus all of the copays that came with that plan.
In June of 2022, we visited Mark Mattlage with Alternative Healthcare Options. at the Summer Summit for HomeVestors. Mark was the most down to earth, far from pushy “salesperson” I had ever met. He provided us with all the information and offered to set up a quick phone call, on our time, where he could show us more information. We are blessed to be a healthy family and after seeing what a Healthshare had to offer, the $1,000 per incident deductible with a max out of pocket of $3,000 for the family per year and less than half of the premium we were paying, I decided this was worth my time to look more into. We signed up with Mark and his team on August of 2022. Since then, we had no issues whatsoever and if I had a question, I simply picked up the phone, with no hold times, and asked my question to the representative on the other end.
Fast forward to March of 2023, our 11-year-old daughter was involved in a cheerleading accident and broke her forearm in two places. Thanking God for introducing us to Mark and saving us potentially thousands of dollars. She had a series of 5 casts, surgery, anesthesia, countless x-rays and physical therapy and we came out of pocket a total of $1,000. Our medical bills totaled from March 27, 2023 to May 27, 2023, $9,432.50.
Once again, we thanked the Lord for saving us all this money as we would have been completely out of pocket the full $9,400 plus the high monthly premium, just 7 short months prior to this incident. The Alternative Healthcare Options team and Mark were extremely helpful in getting all bills paid in such a timely manner and I feel at so much ease in the decision we made for our family in making this switch.
This made so much sense, it seemed too good to be true, so we researched, and it really is as it seems! Saving $15,000 a year gives us the ability to buy another Ugly House.
